GEOMATRIX
UAB (GMX)
is an SME founded in 2011 by GMES/Copernicus expert Dr Gediminas
Vaitkus. The company focuses on applied research in remote sensing and geo-informatics, development of innovative
technological solutions and extreme geo-computing services. Automated work-flows developed by the
company include not only processing of satellite imagery and land
cover mapping, but also aggregation and geo-processing of vector GIS
datasets and relational databases, geostatistical modelling,
operational site-based mapping, generation of metadata and publishing
the results on the Internet or distributed databases. The company has experience in delivering pan-European automated water and wetland mapping services during major EEA projects GMES Initial Operations
(GIO-Land) and
EU-Hydro update. We also acted as technological partners in FP7 LAMPRE and H2020 PARSEC projects dealing with automated
processing of satellite imagery. Since 2016 we are developing a satellite-based agriculture information back-end service (SAGRIS.) In 2017
SAGRIS was selected for Copernicus Masters Accelerator and received a
H2020 SME-1 grant for a feasibility study and business development
plan. Currently SAGRIS is evolving into commercial added-value services for CAP subsidies control (CAPCON) and smart farming (COEFARM) services funded by ESA PECS program.
